Suspect in case on bombings in metro detained in Dagestan

A suspected member of a militant grouping organized by Magomedali Vagabov was involved in the bombings in the Moscow metro in 2010, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomedali Vagabov (Amir Seyfullah Abu Abdullah), the leader of the Gubden militant grouping, operating in 2010 in the Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan, was killed in Gubden during a special operation in August 2010, the law enforcement bodies reported. According to investigators, Magomedali Vagabov was the organizer of the terror acts in the Moscow metro in March 2010. His relatives claimed that Magomedali Vagabov had been arrested on the fabricated charges and incriminated himself under torture.

The bombings at the "Lubyanka" and "Park Kultury" metro stations occurred in the morning on March 29, 2010. As a result, 40 people were killed and more than 100 were injured. According to the secret services, the terror acts were committed by Dagestani native Maryam Sharipova, a wife of Magomedali Vagabov, one of the leaders of Dagestani militants, and 17-year-old Jennet Abdurakhmanova, a widow of Umalat Magomedov, a leader of Dagestani militants, who was killed in late December 2009.

According to the ICRF, the suspected member of the militant grouping organized by Magomedali Vagabov was detained by law enforcers in Dagestan on March 27. "The suspect has been brought to Moscow," the ICRF reports today.

The special operation for the suspect's detention took place in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, the RIA "Novosti" reports today.
