Activists demand to release detainees at Baku march

About 100 people gathered at the police station and demanded to release the leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), the head of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) and other people detainees during the march in Baku.

On Saturday, the police stopped the march of PFPA in Baku. About 50 people were detained, including Ali Kerimli, the party, and Djamil Gasanli, the head of the leader and head of the NCDF of Azerbaijan. The march was organized on the occasion of the Day of National Revival celebrated in the country on November 17.

Policemen detained Sevindja Sadygova, a reporter of the "Azel.TV". Fifteen minutes later, she was released and said that they had not allowed her to video the march.

"Policemen drew up administrative protocols on about ten detainees under the articles of 'disobeying the police' and 'violation of the rules for holding marches and rallies' ... They released me and ordered not to make any video. I treat it as pressure on me in connection with my professional activities," Mr Sadygova has stated.
