Armenian President approves dismissal of six ministers

Armen Sargsyan has supported the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to dismiss the ministers-members of the "Prosperous Armenia" and "Dashnaktsutyun" Parties, who had supported the amendments to the Regulations on the National Assembly (Parliament).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 2, Nikol Pashinyan decided to dismiss six ministers representing the above two parties. He treated the bill on the above amendments, adopted by the Parliament, as a counter-revolution attempt and encroachment on the power and the people of Armenia.

The bill allowing the Parliament to continue working in case of the Premier's resignation was adopted on October 2. In protest, residents of Yerevan, at the call of Pashinyan, blocked the building of the Parliament.

President Armen Sargsyan is on a visit to the United States, "but is closely following the developments in Armenia," the presidential press service has stated.
