Armenian Premier Pashinyan dismisses ministers and announced his resignation
Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia has signed a decree on the dismissal of the ministers from the "Prosperous Armenia" and "Dashnaktsutyun" Parties. He has stated that he will also resign after the decree comes into force, and called on his supporters to seek early parliamentary elections.
In his speech addressed to the rally against the amendments to the law on the regulations of the National Assembly (Parliament), Nikol Pashinyan also declared the counter-revolution in Armenia. He demanded the resignation of the Republican Party.
Mr Pashinyan has signed his decrees on ministers' dismissal right at the rally held in Bagramyan Avenue, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
In the evening on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, following Nikol Pashinyan's call, residents of Yerevan came out to the rally against the above amendments, which allows the Parliament to continue working in case of Prime Minister's resignation. They blocked the building of the Parliament.
Mr Pashinyan has treated the adopted bill as an encroachment on the people's rule, and considers the early parliamentary elections as a matter of principle, since "the current Parliament fails to represent the Armenian people."
The early parliamentary elections will be held this December, Nikol Pashinyan has stated.
