Thirteen political forces claim seats in Yerevan Council of Elders

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Armenia has completed the acceptance of documents for participation in the early elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan. Candidates of 4 blocks and 9 parties have applied for council seats.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above early elections were scheduled for September 23. The deadline for submitting applications for the campaign was August 29.

"On September 3, by 6:00 p.m., the CEC will examine the submitted documents and approve the party lists of candidates," Ermine Arutyunyan, the press secretary of the CEC of Armenia, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on August 29.

She noted that this year the electoral campaign for the Council of Elders will be shorter than usual; it will last from September 10 to September 21.
