Baku: policemen detain activists at protest action

Four activists of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) were detained in Baku after their action against the ban for their detained comrades Ruslan Nasirli, Agil Magerramov and Babek Gasanov to meet their relatives.

Later, Mr Nasirli demanded, through the court, to restore their right to be visited and have telephone conversations with their family members.

The detained PFPA activists are accused of money laundering. All of them gave been announced to be political prisoners.

According to Ilham Gusein, a member of the Supreme Mejlis of the PFPA, the protesters raised posters with portraits of arrested activists.

Earlier, the lawyer Yalchin Imanov noted that restrictions on relatives' visits to detainees may be introduced in exceptional cases, but they should be duly justified.
