Tactical exercises involving more than 3000 military personnel have been started at the Russian base in Armenia, the press service of the Southern Military District reported.

The military exercise will last until July 28. They involve about 500 units of military vehicles and motorized rifle, tank, reconnaissance, artillery, and engineering units.

"Soldiers and officers ... are engaged in solving the air defence tasks against the attacks of the conventional enemy," the press service of the Southern Military District said.
