Activists of "Georgian March" detained in Tbilisi

The action "#don'tkill" is used in Tbilisi for political aims, the "Georgian March" has stated and organized its own protest action. The police detained over 10 participants thereof, including Tristan Tsitelashvili, one of the leaders of the "Georgian March".

Since May 31, Tbilisi hosts the protest action "#don'tkill", caused by the unfair, in its participants' opinion, court verdict in the case of the murder of two schoolboys. After the protests, Irakli Shotadze, the country's Chief Prosecutor, resigned. Today, the court passed a more severe sentence to the defendants. However, the protesters have stated their distrust to investigators and demanded to change the whole public justice system.

The activists of the "Georgian March" believe that the action "#don'tkill" is backed by politicians, in particular, by the oppositional "United National Movement" (UNM) Party. At the same time, activists noted that they are in solidarity with the families of murdered teenagers.

Meanwhile, several hundred students have joined the action "#don'tkill". They chanted at the building of the parliament: "With clean hands!"
