Conflict in Georgia's Judo Federation resulted in brawl with shooting
Last night, supporters and opponents of the president of the Judo Federation of Georgia had a brawl; one of them was wounded.
The judoka Ioseb Tsiklauri was wounded in his thigh by a pistol shot, the website of Channel One of the Georgian TV has reported.
On May 28, a protest rally was held near the Georgian Parliament by the judokas, who refused to go out for training until David Kevkhishvili, the president of the Judo Federation was dismissed.
The confrontation of the federation president and judokas broke out after the European Championships-2018, where for the first time in 26 years Georgian athletes failed to win a single medal. On April 30, all the coaches of the Georgian national judo team were fired.
