Discussion on election of Prime Minister of Armenia scheduled for May 1

On May 1, a special meeting will be held in the Parliament of Armenia to discuss the issue on the election of the Prime Minister of Armenia. It is not ruled out that the voting will be held on the same day, the People's Assembly reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 23, Serzh Sargsyan, who was appointed the Prime Minister of Armenia on April 17, agreed to fulfil the demand of the opposition and announced his resignation. Karen Karapetyan became the acting Prime Minister.

Today, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed by the press service of the People's Assembly that Ara Babloyan, Speaker for the Parliament of Armenia, scheduled for May 1 the discussion concerning the election of the Prime Minister of Armenia in accordance with Part 3 of Article 140 of the Constitutional Law.

"It is not ruled out that the voting will be held on the same day," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Arsen Babayan, the press secretary of Armenian Parliament.
