Serzh Sargsyan, new Armenian Premier, agrees to meet protest leader

Serzh Sargsyan, the current Armenian Prime Minister has agreed to meet Nikol Pashinyan; however, the latter intends to talk only about the former's resignation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, Armen Sargsyan, the incumbent President, came out to the square in Yerevan to talk to Nikol Pashinyan. After the talk, Mr Pashinyan announced the conditions for a dialogue with Serzh Sargsyan, the Prime Minister, namely, he intends to talk only about Serzh's resignation.

On April 17, after Serzh Sargsyan was elected Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, an oppositional MP, announced a "peaceful revolution" in Armenia. Protesters oppose the former president becoming the country's leader again.

Mr Pashinyan wrote in his Facebook page that his meeting with Serzh would be held on April 22 in the Marriot Hotel.
