Tumso Abdurakhmanov: law enforcers force my relatives to record a video appeal

In Grozny, law enforcers have detained relatives of Chechen blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov, who stays in Poland to hide from persecution. The law enforcers threatened the detainees and demanded from them to record a video complaint against Tumso Abdurakhmanov, the blogger himself reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Tumso Abdurakhmanov, put in Russia on the federal wanted list, reported his detention in one of the countries to where he went from Georgia.

On December 20, 2017, Tumso Abdurakhmanov appealed from a deportation prison in Warsaw to the Polish authorities and representatives of the UN with a request to provide him and his family members with political asylum and prevent their extradition to Russia. Tumso Abdurakhmanov associates his criminal prosecution in Russia with his conflict with a top-ranking relative of the leader of Chechnya.

On April 10, Tumso Abdurakhmanov reported on Facebook the information about the detention of his relatives. The blogger described the very process of detention as kidnapping and blamed the "Kadyrov's power" for that.

"My relatives were recorded on video and the general meaning of what they said was in a wish that I would stop criticizing the authorities, leave our padishah in peace, and come home to be forgiven. Law enforcers shot several videos, since my oldest uncle said something that they did not like and he was forced several times to voice other words for the video," Tumso Abdurakhmanov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. The blogger has also added that he expects a story to be shown by the Chechen TV Channel.

At present, the Tumso Abdurakhmanov's relatives have been set free by law enforcers, the blogger himself reports. He has associated the pressure on his relatives with his opposition activities.
