Armenia reports shelling near Nakhichevan

On April 7 and last night, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan repeatedly violated the ceasefire by using small firearms, Artsrun Ovannisyan, the spokesman for the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD), told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his version, Armenian militaries responded with a retaliatory fire and "made the enemy silent." However, he did not specify the number of acts of shelling from either side.

"The Armenian MoD calls on Azerbaijan to refrain from further provocations; the Armenian party will not leave a single provocation of Azerbaijan unanswered," Mr Ovannisyan has stated.

In its turn, Azerbaijan has stated 102 bombardments of its positions by the Armed Forces of Armenia within the last 24 hours.
