Militarized youth camp opened in Chechnya

On October 25, the village of Pachu in the high-mountainous Nozhai-Yurt District held a solemn ceremony to open the children's health camp "Mountain Benoy", designed for 500 seats. The construction of the camp was started in mid-September, an official from the Chechen Ministry of Labour told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

This is the first children's health camp in the district, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by an official from the administration for the Nozhai-Yurt District.

Besides, on October 25, a multipurpose military-patriotic youth camp was opened in the village of Dengi-Yurt. It includes barracks, educational and technical facilities, a canteen, a sports complex, a mosque, and other facilities, reported the official from the Nozhai-Yurt District administration.

"The camp can simultaneously provide military and sports training for up to 200 young people," said the district official.

It should be noted that the army service attracts young Chechens by the prospects of becoming professional soldiers or getting a job in law enforcement or security agencies. In the course of the autumn draft campaign, an official from the military enlistment office has reported that in Chechnya, the number of young people who wish to serve in the army is significantly higher than the regional quota for recruits of 500 people.
