Relatives of Chechen children returned from Iraq report about their adaptation

Chechen children brought to Russia from Iraq on September 14 stay in Grozny in families of their fathers. Since the girl got a gunshot wound, it was decided to send her for medical treatment to the Grozny hospital. The boy's health state does not cause fear, and he is being prepared for school.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 14, a girl of eight and a boy of nine from Chechen families were brought by plane from Baghdad to Moscow and then to Grozny.

The girl and the boy were taken by their parents to Syria in 2014. Their relatives live in the village of Sadovoe in the Grozny District, and now the boy and girl stay there with them.

"The mother, sisters and a brother of the boy were killed in the bombing of the Mosul city, and he was saved by a miracle. He was nearly shot dead by an Iraqi soldier. It is hard to imagine what he had to endure in recent months," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a close female relative of the boy.

According to the woman, the boy is much more serious than other children of his age and a bit reserved. The woman has noted that nevertheless, the boy has already begun to adapt to the new conditions.

"He is already slowly moving away from the experience, and he plays with other children. The question of his enrolment in school is to be solved. The boy needs to study," the woman says.

The girl returned from Iraq needs serious medical treatment. At present, she also stays in the family of her father, but in the next days the girl will be sent for medical treatment to a children's hospital in Grozny, where she will be provided with qualified medical care.

"The girl was wounded and got severe burns in an explosion, when armed forces bombed the ruins of Mosul. It is a miracle that she survived," a close female relative of the girl told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
