Pavel Grib transferred from Krasnodar SIZO to hospital

Ukrainian citizen Pavel Grib, accused of terrorism in Russia, has been placed into a specialized medical institution, the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has reported today. The MFA demands to admit Ukrainian doctors to examine Pavel Grib.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the 19-year-old citizen Pavel Grib disappeared in Belarus in late August, and on September 7 was found in Krasnodar SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 5. The territorial FSB branch informed Ukrainian diplomats that Pavel Grib was kept there charged under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorism). According to his father, Pavel has a disability and must constantly take medications.

Today, Maryana Betsa, the spokesperson of the Ukrainian MFA, has reported with reference to Ukrainian consuls that Pavel Grib was transferred from SIZO to a medical facility; the reasons for his hospitalization are unknown.

"We are now trying to clarify exactly where he is kept and why," the UNIAN quotes Ms Betsa as saying.

The Ukrainian MFA expresses its protest against non-admission by the Russian party of Ukrainian doctors to Pavel Grib and demands to ensure a medical examination of the young man by Ukrainian specialists. The MFA has repeatedly appealed to Russia on this issue, says the statement posted tonight on the website of the Ukrainian MFA.
