Man wounded in explosion in Dagestan dies in hospital - report

Four persons fell victim to an explosion in the Khasavyurt District. Of them, two died at the place, and another died in the hospital. The fourth person stays in resuscitation ward. This was reported by the media without reference to their sources.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 17, an explosion occurred in a field near the village of Novogagatli in the Khasavyurt District. The police of Dagestan reported about two killed persons and one wounded.

As a result of the incident, two persons were killed at the place, the third died in the hospital, and the fourth still stays in resuscitation ward. According to some reports, one of the killed persons was a son of a man sentenced for aiding and abetting Dagestani militants, the "Izvestia" reports without reference to its source.

According to investigators, the explosion was caused by detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED). The people killed in the explosion accidentally blew up the IED by hitting it with a shovel. They themselves hid the IED a year ago and then decided to dig it out, the REN TV reports also without reference to its source of information.
