Baku protests against presidential election in Nagorno-Karabakh
Khikmet Gadjiev, the official spokesman for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), has called the presidential election in Nagorno-Karabakh scheduled for July 19 one more political provocation. According to Khikmet Gadjiev, the Baku authorities treat the above election in Nagorno-Karabakh as a violation of norms and principles of the international law.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the election of the President of Nagorno-Karabakh is scheduled for July 19. Two persons are to run for presidency, including Bako Sahakyan, incumbent President, and Eduard Agabekyan, the leader of the "Movement-88" Party.
The MFA's spokesman has accused Armenia of one more provocation.
"The illegal presidential election in Nagorno-Karabakh ... is an open violation of the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as norms and principles of the international law," emphasized Khikmet Gadjiev as quoted by the APA Agency.
