Arthur Panov asks investigators to check his detention

Arthur Panov, who is accused of plotting a terror act in Rostov-on-Don, has told the court that the day before the date of his detention as indicated in his case files, he was captured in the street and taken away for questioning by people, who presented themselves as law enforcers. The application, submitted by Arthur Panov, with a request to conduct a check was delivered to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

Arthur Panov, a 19-year-old resident of the town of Krasnodon of the Lugansk Region of Ukraine, is accused of plotting a terror act.

"On December 4, 2015, around noon, in the area of Malinovskiy Street, I was walking near one of the large shopping centres. A foreign-made car with tinted windows and without license number plates drove up to me; four men in civilian clothes jumped out of it. One of them ran up to me quickly and punched me in my stomach, causing me to bend sharply; the attacker twisted my arms and knocking me down to the ground. At that moment, two other men ran up to me and drove me into the car," Arthur Panov read from the text of his application.

"My attackers near Malinovskiy Street have not been identified; and neither the Consulate General of Ukraine, nor my relatives were notified about my detention within two days. I hereby ask the ICRF to check the above circumstances of my kidnapping," Arthur Panov has finished reading the application.
