Stavropol police reports no detained Navalny's supporters

None of the participants of the rally held on June 12 was brought to Stavropol police stations, said the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). However, eyewitnesses said that policemen took away two persons from the venue of the rally.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 12, Stavropol hosted a sanctioned rally against corruption. At the beginning, policemen took away the woman, who was obstructing the speakers, the organizer said. Later, a young man was detained, who was shouting insults against President Vladimir Putin, but he was soon released. The organizers counted about 600 participants, although Anton Chablin, a local political analyst, saw no more than 200 people at the rally.

Policemen took away a man and a woman, said one of the participants.

The woman was taken away after she "began shouting loudly," explained Yaroslav Sinyugin, the head of Alexei Navalny's election office in Stavropol. According to his story, the woman "provoked the presenter and defended the authorities." The provocateur was taken away without scandal, Mr Sinyugin has assured.
