In Makhachkala, "Caucasian Knot" correspondent attacked at rally of Alexei Navalny's supporters
In Makhachkala, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was attacked while she was shooting on video the preparation for the anticorruption rally, and her video camera was damaged. Meanwhile, law enforcers did not infer with the incident.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the rally in Makhachkala is not sanctioned by the city authorities. Today, its organizer Marat Ismailov was brought to a police station, where he was obliged to write a recognizance to refuse committing unlawful acts.
In Makhachkala, the rally was originally planned to be held in Rhodope Boulevard, next to the Kumyk Theatre and the "Caspian" Hotel, at 2:00 p.m. Moscow time. By that time, people started to gather there, and young guys began to approach them and demanded to leave the place. Meanwhile, policemen stood aside.
When the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent took out her video camera, a young man approached her and began to demand not to shoot video. The journalist refused to obey to his advices, and then the young man held his hand and grabbed the camera with tearing off a detail from it. The whole incident was accompanied by abuse and insults.
