In Tbilisi, participants of rally in support of Afghan Mukhtarly boo law enforcers

The Georgian special services may be involved in the kidnapping of Azerbaijani journalist Afghan Mukhtarly. This was stated by participants of a protest action in Georgia. They protested with whistles.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 31, the accusation of resisting a border guard was added to the charge of violating the state border and smuggling filed against Afghan Mukhtarly. The court in Baku arrested the journalist for three months.

Today, about 20 media reporters, human rights defenders and politicians have gathered in front of the building of the State Security Service (SSS) of Georgia, the "Novosti-Georgia" reports.

Giorgi Mgebrishvili, Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs, has ruled out any involvement of the law enforcement agencies in the kidnapping of Afghan Mukhtarly.

According to him, Azerbaijan has never requested Georgia to extradite to it the Azerbaijanis living in Georgia and not sharing the policy of the Baku officials, the "Sputnik-Georgia" reports.

Giorgi Mgebrishvili has also added that to reveal the circumstances of the disappearance of Afghan Mukhtarly from Tbilisi is primarily in the interests of the Georgian authorities.
