"Levada Centre": level of Russian citizens' trust to Ramzan Kadyrov exceeds official data

The "Levada Centre" has found out that 25% of Russian citizens experience respect and sympathy for Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. According to the data published by the "Caucasian Knot", 49% of Russian citizens believe that Ramzan Kadyrov can be trusted.

According to the "Levada Centre", 15% of respondents said that they respect Ramzan Kadyrov, and 10% of respondents told of sympathy for him. The above rates increased over a year: in January 2016, 10% of respondents talked of their respect for the leader of Chechnya, and 7% talked of sympathy for him.

Meanwhile, over a year, the number of the respondents, who expressed their distrust towards the leader of Chechnya, increased by 5 percentage points, from 9% to 14%.

Let us remind you that on September 18, 2016, at the election of the leader of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov was supported by more than 97% of voters. However, in March of 2016, in her interview to the "Caucasian Knot", Ekaterina Sokiryanskaya, the project director for Northern Caucasus of the International Crisis Group (ICC) and a member of the board of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", stated that the popularity of Ramzan Kadyrov began to fall because of the injustice reigning in the republic.
