In Tbilisi, Georgian feminists hold action against gender inequality

In Georgia, women face obstacles in career growth. This opinion was voiced by female participants of the action "Break the glass ceiling", held today in Tbilisi.

Today, the action-performance has been held in front of the government building in the centre of the Georgian capital by members of the NGO "Women's Movement".

The participants of the action have called on women to fight more actively for their rights. Besides, they have also urged the society to abandon stereotypes when assessing the opportunities of women, the "Sputnik Georgia" reports.

According to the participants of the action, the "glass ceiling" is a feminist term, meaning no formally defined limit of career growth for women, not related to their professional qualities.

"In Georgia, girls and women show excellent academic performance, and women are also distinguished by their responsibility and hard work. Despite their talents and abilities to analysis, women usually reach only a certain stage in their careers: they occupy places at the level of the middle management level, and after that their careers stop," reports the statement of Georgian feminists posted on the social network Facebook as quoted by the "News-Georgia".
