During New Year holidays inflow of tourists to Sochi resorts dropped by 9.5%
During this year's New Year holidays, the resorts of Krasnaya Polyana were visited by 355,000 persons. A year ago, the figure was over 392,200.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russians traditionally like to come to Sochi Mountains to see the New Year in and spend their winter holidays. However, in 2016, tourists called the New Year holidays in Sochi too expensive.
This year, the ski resorts "Roza Khutor", "City of Hills" and "Gazprom" were visited by 355,000 persons.
"Despite the high demand and peak loads on the tourist infrastructure, all the facilities worked in normal mode," says the website of the Ministry of Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage of the Krasnodar Territory.
However, the flow of tourists during the 2017 holiday season to Sochi winter resorts dropped by 9.5%.
In total, during this winter season, Sochi plans to accept about 1.5 million tourists, says the website of the Sochi city administration.
