In Adygea, MIA refuses to investigate theft of Ramzan Kadyrov's sheep

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Adygea has refused to open a criminal case on the fact of theft of animals donated by Ramzan Kadyrov to poor residents of Adygea. Ecologist Valery Brinikh, who voiced the information, also announced his intention to challenge the MIA's decision and complained to the Prosecutor's Office about pressure from law enforcers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 1, Valery Brinikh, the chairman of the All-Russian Society of Environmental Protection, filed to the police a complaint stating that the sheep were stolen by local officials.

According to Askarby Kardanov, Mufti of Adygea and the Krasnodar Territory, the information about the theft of sheep is based on rumours and it can "harm the honour and reputation." However, the regional Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) will not file a claim, reports the website of the SAM for Adygea.

Valery Brinikh, who is also the head of the regional branch of the "Green" Party for Adygea, has also reported that during his questioning on December 9, he was asked about the sources from which he had got the information about the theft of the sheep.

Valery Brinikh has associated the increased attention from the law enforcement authorities with the statements made by members of the "Green" Party about electoral violations in Adygea.
