Participants of creative forum claim low level of education in Georgia

According to participants of the international forum "Creative Georgia", people of creative professions are unable to implement their projects in Georgia because of the low level of education at schools and institutions of higher education in the country. The participants of the international forum have noted the need for copyright protection.

On December 8-9, the international forum "Creative Georgia" was held in Tbilisi with the support of the European Union and the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia. The forum was attended by delegates of the "Eastern Partnership" countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The forum has adopted the "Manifesto of Tbilisi for development of creative industries in the region of the Eastern Partnership"

Zviad Mchedlishvili, the leader of the NGO "Creative Georgia", has reported that his NGO holds seminars for people of creative professions.

According to him, in Georgia, "the greatest potential in the field of culture is in Kutaisi (the Imereti region, Western Georgia) and Adjaria."

One of the participants of the international forum has noted that in Georgia, secondary schools should teach "History of Art". At the forum, Georgian delegates have also drawn attention to the language barrier, since residents of the regions of the country do not speak English and do not have access to the Internet.
