Nikolai Karpyuk convoyed from Grozny to Vladimir Region

Nikolai Karpyuk, a citizen of Ukraine, accused of involvement in the war in Chechnya on the side of the militants, has been transported to the penal colony No. 2 in the Vladimir Region. This was reported by his advocate Ilya Novikov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 26, the Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya sentenced Nikolai Karpyuk and Stanislav Klykh to 22.5 and 20 years of imprisonment, respectively. On October 26, the Supreme Court of Russia dismissed the appeal filed against the sentence.

According to an advocate, Stanislav Klykh "is still being kept in Grozny, since his second sentence does not come into force", the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Earlier, Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has recognized Nikolai Karpyuk and Stanislav Klykh as political prisoners.
