"Novaya Gazeta": Ramzan Kadyrov fails to fulfil conditions of contract with Kremlin

Ramzan Kadyrov has violated a condition of the contract with the Kremlin, when he allowed Chechnya to leave the Russia's legal field and to be transformed in fact in a separatist regime under his sole control. This is reported by the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" in its article dedicated to the ten-year anniversary of the murder of journalist Anna Politkovskaya.

On October 2, the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" published an article written by Elena Milashina on the ruling of Ramzan Kadyrov. The article reported on the prevention of the assassination attempt on the Chechen leader. According to the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot", that was the eighth assassination attempt. This was reported by Ramzan Kadyrov himself on September 16. However, today, his spokesman Alvi Karimov has called the information about the assassination a lie.

Ramzan Kadyrov manages to retain his power in Chechnya due to his contract with the federal government, which has set specific objectives before him, including the fight against the armed underground in the republic and its maintenance as a part of Russia, as well as the restoration of the Chechen economy after the two military campaigns.

Ramzan Kadyrov was defending his regime when he had conflicts with law enforcers, who in vain seek for punishment of subordinates of the Chechen leader, including Ruslan Geremeev, involved in the criminal case on the Boris Nemtsov's murder.

The article also points out to strengthening of suppression of dissidents in the republic and Ramzan Kadyrov's attacks on people who criticize his regime.

Meanwhile, people continue leaving Chechnya, since no stable economic and social environment has been created.
