First groups of pilgrims return to Chechnya

All pilgrims from Chechnya, who go on Hajj this year, will return from Saudi Arabia till the weekend. This was reported by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) for the Chechen Republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this year, the quota for Hajj for Chechnya was 3000 persons. In the period from August 29 to September 3, 1526 pilgrims from Chechnya left for Saudi Arabia.

Hajj (one of the five basic pillars of Islam) is a pilgrimage to Mecca, a holy place for Muslims. Every Muslim, who has reached the age of majority and has the opportunity to go for Hajj, should do that at least once in a lifetime.

On September 21, the first two groups of Chechen pilgrims returned from Saudi Arabia to Grozny, reports an official of the Chechen SAM.
