Police detain man suspected of attacking journalists in Beslan

The police of North Ossetia have detained a local resident, suspected of an attack on the journalists of the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" and the magazine "Takie Dela" in the yard of the school No. 1 in Beslan during the mourning ceremonies.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, in Beslan, a group of young people attacked Ella Kesaeva, the leader of the organization "Voice of Beslan", Elena Kostyuchenko, a reporter of the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta", and Diana Khachatryan, a journalist of the edition "Takie Dela". The attackers poured the women with green paint, seized their mobile phones, and fled in front of the police.

The young man who poured the journalist with green paint was identified, and he was detained. This was reported by a source from the law enforcement bodies of the region.

"Most likely, he faces the charge under Article 'disorderly conduct'," explained the source.

According to him, the detainee does not deny his guilt and justifies his act by the fact that he believed "the journalist behaved unworthy for all three days, during the mourning ceremonies," the "Interfax" reports.

The source from the law enforcement bodies has added that mobile phones of the journalists were found not far from the railway station. The items are returned to their owners.
