In Sochi, Olympic settlers complain about being accommodated to unfinished buildings
In Sochi, for two years, families relocated after the Olympic Games to a multi-storey apartment house built for volunteers, are deprived of supply of hot water and heating. This was reported by tenants.
On August 13, eight families of the Olympic settlers organized a meeting near their unfinished house. The 400-apartment house is located in No. 23 in Khudyakov Street in the village of Vesyoloe in Adler.
After moving into the house in Khudyakov Street, the people have found out that lifts did not work in the new houses, the roofs had leaks, bathroom and lavatory equipment was stolen, and parquet was destroyed.
"We had no heating during two winters, and we are waiting with horror for the third winter. We have no hot water supply. The houses are being destroyed. All of the houses have been standing empty for two years," said Yarina.
The woman has also reported that the management company "Doverie" (Trust), was the first one which took responsibility for the maintenance of the house. However, according to the woman, it "simply collected money." At present, the other company is responsible for the maintenance of the house; however, it is also unable to improve the living conditions of the tenants.
