"Nairit" workers call on Armenian President to agree to investor's proposal

In Armenia, the Slovak-owned holding has proposed the Armenian authorities to direct investments for the resumption of rubber production at the plant "Nairit". Today, the company's employees have addressed a letter to Serzh Sargsyan with the request to accept the investor's proposal.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the plant "Nairit", engaged in production of chloroprene rubber, is idle since April 2010. Since 2011, the workers sought the repayment of wage debts; however, their wages were not paid to them in full. They offer the Armenian authorities to adopt a law on tax relief for investors wishing to invest in the plant.

In their letter, the workers state that the "EU-Asia Business Finance Centre" holding undertakes to organize the marketing campaign and sale of all the products of the plant.

According to Karine Shakhverdyan, a former worker of the plant, the Cabinet of Ministers has not yet responded to the proposal made on July 27 and is not ready to make an independent decision. The woman believes that the political will is needed will to resume the production of rubber.

The "EU-Asia Business Finance Centre" Holding is registered in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, and its president Ashot Grigoryan is a businessman of Armenian origin.
