In Gukovo, miners on protest declare their readiness to go on hunger strike
In Gukovo, miners, who demand the repayment of wage arrears, have met the bankruptcy trustee of the mine "Zamchalovskaya". The miners are not satisfied with the outcome of the meeting. According to participants of the meeting, in case if the demands of the protestors are not met until August 14, then on August 15, the miners will start a hunger strike.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from May, the workers of the companies "Kingcoal-South" have been holding pickets sanctioned by the authorities. The workers demand to repay the wage arrears. The new picket took place on August 4. It was attended by about 200 miners.
After the end of the picket, the protesters met Mikhail Reuk, the bankruptcy trustee of the mine "Zamchalovskaya", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Mikhail Reuk emphasizes that the company is in a very bad condition. According to him, the severe situation has resulted from the fact that high quality coal from the mine "Zamchalovskaya" was sold at a price three times lower than the market average price.
When directly asked whether the miners will be paid the money honestly earned by them, Mikhail Reuk avoided answering. After that, the workers began to leave the room and spontaneously gathered near the "Kingcoal" office, where they discussed their further steps.
As a result of the spontaneous discussion, it was decided to go on hunger strike on the day following the rally of August 14.
