Residents of Dagestan demand to stop rise in prices for air tickets

The petition with a request to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to check the justification of the rise in prices for air tickets for flights Moscow-Makhachkala has collected 253 signatures.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Dagestan complained about a sharp rise in the prices for air tickets to Makhachkala before the summer season. They suggested that the airlines "are engaged in systematic collusion."

"The prices start to rise when the flow of tourists increases. On June 1, the price for air tickets in the direction of Moscow-Makhachkala amounted to 20,000 roubles. On the eve of the holiday of Eid al-Fitr, the prices for air tickets ranged from 20,000 up to 35,000 roubles, while the air tickets to Grozny for the same dates amounted to 5000 roubles," said Asad Magomedov.

In her turn, Djamilya Gamzatova, a resident of Makhachkala, has noted that "on the route from Moscow to Makhachkala, planes fly half-empty because of the high cost of air tickets."

Supyan Dibirov, a resident of Dagestan, suggests that the increase in prices for air tickets on the route Moscow-Makhachkala is associated with "the desire to direct the tourist flows from Dagestan in favour of Sochi and Crimea."

On July 19, on the website "Change.org", Magomed Magomedov posted the petition entitled "Stop raising prices for air tickets to Dagestan!".
