In Saint Petersburg, Legislative Assembly dismisses appeal to Poltavchenko about Kadyrov's bridge

Today, at the session of the Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg, non-partisan deputy Maxim Reznik has presented a draft appeal to the City Governor concerning the naming of a bridge after Akhmat Kadyrov, which he called urgent.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 30 the Saint Petersburg’s Toponymic Commission supported the idea of naming the bridge over the Dudergof Canal after Akhmat Kadyrov. The application for a referendum, in which citizens could express their attitude to this idea, was submitted on June 8. However, on June 15 the city governor ruled to make the above naming.

"Please inform me about the reason for the need for urgent consideration of the issue at the Toponymy Commission. Please also let me know whether the government's decision on the naming of the bridge was connected with the arrival of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov to the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum (the Forum was held on June 16-18, note of the 'Caucasian Knot')," stated Maxim Reznik, when commenting on his own appeal.

Besides, Maxim Reznik has also said that he wants to know the result of the voting of each member of the government on the issue of naming the bridge after Akhmat Kadyrov.

After the voting by names, deputies dismissed the appeal filed by Maxim Reznik, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Only 12 deputies have voted for the appeal to the Governor, the "ZakS.Ru" reports.

Let us remind you that on June 15, Maxim Reznik, together with Olga Galkina, another deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg, initiated the appeal to Poltavchenko with the request to abandon the idea of naming the bridge after Akhmat Kadyrov; however, the initiative was rejected as initiated.
