Commission members refuse to sign document on houses in Olympic settlement of Sochi

Members of the commission set up under the administration of the Krasnodar Territory were offered to sign a document stating the good reasons for selling the houses of the Olympic legacy. At least three members of the commission decided not to sign the document, insisting that it should reflect the information about those responsible for the poor state of the houses.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of the "Olympic" cottage village in Sochi claimed its derelict condition and misuse since 2011. In the spring of 2015, activists of the Sochi anticorruption coalition held a public inspection of the village of Vesyoloe Psou. Following the results of their inspection, the activists reported on the destruction of state property and the misuse of the houses built for Olympic settlers. The act with the results of the survey was sent to the President, State Duma deputies, and the public prosecutor. On May 23, members of the public commission inspected the houses in Vesyoloe Psou and Tavrichesky, the two villages designed for the Olympic settlers.

The members of the commission Igor Vasiliev, Natalia Kalinovskaya and Yuri Dzaganiya, who are assistants of Sergey Obukhov, a State Duma MP from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they disagree with the provision of the document on the sale of Olympic legacy objects by the auction, while the problems of Olympic resettlers have not been solved in the city.

"The document also fails to name the guilty persons who had admitted the looting of state property and failed to take measures to guard it," said Igor Vasiliev.

According to his version, the above members of the commission will insist that the document should contain this information.

"Then, we'll send this information to law enforcement bodies asking them to establish the perpetrators of neglect attitude to Olympic legacy," Mr Vasiliev has concluded.
