Gas pipeline in Dagestan blocked because of detected bomb

Supplying gas to 1600 consumers in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan stopped, because of an improvised explosive device (IED) found at the distribution manifold.

The IED was found in an abandoned building within the buffer zone of the facility. The pipeline was blocked at 8:40 a.m. Moscow time.

"The area around the IED was cordoned off; and bomb experts were called to the venue," the "Interfax" quotes the message the Ministry of Energy of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this morning the Russia's National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has announced the detention of three local residents in the Khasavyurt District, who had links with the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), and were preparing terror acts in Russia. The NAC also reported about a hideout with IEDs, found in an outskirt of the village of Mutsalaul.

It should be noted that last night, sources from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan also reported on the detection and neutralization of four IEDs in an abandoned shed in front of a rural school in the village of Mutsalaul.
