Sister of disappeared Ingush woman complains about threats to her family

In Ingushetia, family members of Elizaveta Alieva are placed under state protection. Elizaveta Alieva has filed a complaint about kidnapping, and one of the defendants in the case has already been detained. Elizaveta Alieva herself claims being feared for the lives of her family members. Furthermore, she worries about the fate of the children of her disappeared sister.

Marem Alieva, a resident of Ingushetia, disappeared in September 2015. According to her sister Elizaveta Alieva, prior to her disappearance, Marem complained about being subjected to beatings and abuses by her husband. Meanwhile, in July 2015, Elizaveta Alieva herself and her husband fell victim to kidnappers.

Starting from January 1, 2016, the family members of Elizaveta Alieva are under state protection. This was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Vitaly Zoubenko, an advocate of Elizaveta Alieva, a member of the NGO "Legal Initiative for Russia", addressed by the relatives of the disappeared woman for help.

Vitaly Zoubenko has also reported that four days ago, investigators detained a nephew of the disappeared Marem Alieva's husband. The detained man is suspected of the kidnapping of Elizaveta Alieva and her husband and violation of integrity of their housing.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed by advocate Olga Gnezdilova, the legal director of the "Legal Initiative for Russia", that Elizaveta Alieva was subjected to repeated threats by the husband of her disappeared sister and his relatives and that once a grenade was exploded in the yard of the family's house. On July 10, Elizaveta Alieva and her husband were kidnapped by six men, who broke into their house. Of them, one suspect has already been detained.
