The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this year, the Andrei Sakharov Prize "For Journalism as a Deed" is awarded for the 15th time. The awarding ceremony takes place every year on December 15 to mark the Memorial Day of journalists who died while performing their professional duties.

The number of recent Elena Kostyuchenko's materials published in the "Novaya Gazeta" includes a story of Anton Sachkov, an orphan from the Krasnodar Territory, who was accused of murder, but thrice acquitted. Anton Sachkov was defended by Alexander Popkov, an advocate from the human rights organization "Agora".
