Abashidze's supporters remove cordon at Adjaria's administrative border
Georgian media report that Aslan Abashidze's armed units do not cordon the administrative border at the Choloki River any longer. Only one armored personal carrier and several submachine gunners are standing near the bridge now. This information has not been officially confirmed yet.
Such a decision was made by mutual consent of the sides, which moved 500 meters away from each other. Talks between Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania and Adjarian Interior Minister Djemal Gogitidze are expected to take place in the neutral zone in a short time.
Meanwhile, Georgian Prosecutor General Irakly Okruashvili has told journalists in Tbilisi he is leaving for Batumi, where he will have talks with the Adjarian leadership.
