Adjarian leader denies Russian general's involvement in bridge explosions
Russian General Yuri Netkachev has nothing to do with the explosions of car bridges connecting Georgia's Adjarian autonomy with the central part of the country, the head of the autonomy, Aslan Abashidze, said on May 3. The general "is not on the territory of Adjaria and the rest of Georgia," he emphasized. "General Netkachev is in Moscow now," the Adjarian leader said. He called the reports on Netkachev's alleged involvement in the explosions "informational canard".
