Court officially announces death sentence to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
Today in Boston, Judge George O'Toole has officially announced the death sentence to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, convicted of terrorism.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 15 Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, accused of committing the terror act in Boston, was sentenced in the United States by a jury to death penalty.
Today, at the court session in Boston, Judge George O'Toole announced the decision made by the jury on May 15. According to the judge, people "will remember Tsarnaev not because he was liked by his teachers and friends, but because he killed innocent people, and did it intentionally."
Tsarnaev's advocates have 14 days to lodge an appeal, the newspaper "Boston Gerald" reports.
At the session, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev apologized for his actions. According to his story, he regrets "of the harm that he had caused by his actions and prays for the victims," the Associated Press reports.
"The convict is now transferred to the administration of the prison in the state of Indiana, where he will wait for the execution of his sentence," Fatima Tlisova, a journalist of the "Voice of America", who was running a broadcast from the courtroom on the Twitter, quotes the judge as saying.
