Readers of "Caucasian Knot" discuss opening of representative offices of DNR and LNR in Tskhinvali
Readers of the "Caucasian Knot" have expressed different opinions concerning the possible consequences of the opening of representative offices of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic and Donetsk People's Republic (LNR and DNR, respectively) in Tskhinvali.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 17, 2015, diplomatic missions of South Ossetia were opened in Donetsk and Lugansk. On April 29, the representative offices of the LNR and DNR were opened in Tskhinvali.
The author of the blog "South Ossetia as it is, used to be and could be" on the "Caucasian Knot" treats the opening of the representative offices of the LNR and DNR in Tskhinvali as a positive event.
"This is certainly a positive step, and, of course, once we have recognized them, we should use this fact in our favour: promote the idea of cooperation with the newly formed states and help them on their path of development. After all, we have a unique experience in this regard, an experience of the political and legal justification of our independence, which can also be applied in the context of the region of eastern Ukraine," the blogger believes.
The above message has triggered a discussion. In particular, a user under nickname "Vladivostok 2000" believes that the development of the DNR and the LNR will likely to resemble "the story of the struggle for the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia."
"With regard to South Ossetia, it is indicative demarche on the subject of own recognition by the world community," the commentator has concluded.
In his turn, user under nickname Aseev_vissarion has called the event "the opening of a representative office of the terrorist organization in Tskhinvali." According to him, if people treat the step as positive, they are "to easily forget any 'political and legal justification of our independence'."
