Advocates of Chechnya residents detained in Moscow send complaint to ECtHR

A complaint to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has been submitted by the advocates of the residents of Chechnya Said-Magomed Tsetiev, Khamzat Tsetiev and Khamid Razhapov, suspected of assaulting employees of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) in Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the above Magomed Tsetiev, Khamzat Tsetiev and Khamid Razhapov were detained on September 21-23, 2014. According to investigators, they beat up three MfE employees in the Moscow settlement of Vnukovo.

The complaint to the ECtHR was sent, on behalf of their clients, by their defenders Tatiana Okushko and Nikolai Dyakov, who claimed that Article 5 "The right to liberty and personal immunity" and Article 6 "The right to a fair trial" of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) were violated in relation to their clients.

The advocates of the natives of Chechnya believe that the criminal case of their clients' involvement in the crime "was deliberately fabricated by employees of the investigatory group of the UVD (Interior Department)."

The complaint notes that for over four months the bodies of preliminary investigation have refused to check the alibi of the three residents of Chechnya.
