Armenian opposition resolute in struggle against 'police regime'
"In spite of all steps being taken by the power, we will continue our struggle to establish a system which secures people's free will. We will fight against the police regime created by Kocharian," Albert Bazeian, chairman of the Political Council of the Republic party and a National Assembly deputy, stated at the meeting arranged by the Justice bloc and the National Unity party with the support of the Armenian Communist Party on May 14.
Aram Sargsian, a member of the Political Council of the Republic party and a National Assembly deputy, informed that the opposition would hold the next meeting on May 21 and would arrange a number of meetings in the regions before it.
It was announced that at 12 a.m. on May 15, the New Armenia non-governmental organization would start collecting signatures under the petition to the prosecutor general to release political prisoners.
