Makhachkala policemen place Children's Centre "Zabota" under surveillance

The police will supervise the Children's Centre "Zabota" (Care) in Makhachkala; however, today the institution operated in its normal mode, said Zarema Alieva, the head of the centre.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 10, in Makhachkala, the Centre "Zabota", the former Children's Club "Amanat", was visited by policemen. According to the employees of the centre, they demanded to close it.

The policemen justified their demand to close the institution by some order issued by the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA); however, they failed to present the document, as Zarema Alieva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Finally, they told me that they would continue coming and watching, without any actions and without presenting the MIA's order," said Zarema.

Today, the Children's Centre "Zabota" functioned normally; however, according to Zarema Alieva, "policemen kept sitting in their car, watching the situation from afar."

The police alone cannot decide to close an educational or other facility, a source from the Sovietskiy ROVD (District Interior Division) explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to his story, in the case with the Centre "Zabota", a "check of the legality of undertaken activities" was made.
