2 Russian soldiers killed, 3 wounded in Chechnya
A Russian military base was attacked in the town of Shali, Chechnya, on the night of May 10-11. "A place of temporary disposition of an interior unit in the district center of Shali was shelled by rebels from underbarrel grenade-launchers and fired from automatic weapons the day before, at about 2 a.m. Two soldiers were killed and three received missile wounds as a result of the attack," a source at the commandant's office said to the Caucasian Knot correspondent. After return fire had been opened, the rebels stopped firing and escaped. A search for the attackers is underway.
