Landmine at stadium in Grozny may have been mounted several months ago

The investigation of the terrorist act committed at the Dimano stadium in Grozny on May 9, as a result of which head of the republic Akhmat Kadyrov and chairman of the State Council Husein Isayev were killed, is underway in the Chechen Republic. Investigators are working with several versions of the happening, reported a source at the Chechen interior ministry. "Approximately 30 people who may have been involved in this terrorist act have already been revealed. We have every reason to suppose that the murder of Kadyrov became possible only because of betrayal. There is even a chance that this may be a man from Akhmat Kadyrov's closest circle," the interior ministry's officer said to the Caucasian Knot correspondent.

According to him, there are grounds to suppose that the landmine at the stadium was mounted long ago, may be even several month ago, during repair work. "The bomb had been set into ferroconcrete elements. That is why it was not found during examination of the territory. Terrorists just waited for an opportune moment," the officer said.
