Akhmad Kadyrov's son becomes deputy PM of Chechen government

Ramzan Kadyrov, the former chief of the security service of Akhmad Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya who was killed in Grozny on May 9, has been appointed first deputy premier of the republican government.

The decree on the appointment of Kadyrov junior was signed by Acting President of Chechnya Sergey Abramov on May 10, the Caucasian Knot correspondent was told at the presidential administration in Grozny. Taus Dzhabrailov, Minister for Nationalities, Information, and Press, has become another deputy premier of Chechnya's Cabinet.

These appointments are to strengthen power in the republic, some experts hold. "At the same time, the Kremlin is obviously trying to show it will continue the line that was held under Kadyrov senior and is going to rely on the support of "Kadyrov's people"," said Murad Nashkhoyev, a Chechen political scientist.
